There is a well-stocked supermarket (open 7.00am to 7.30pm), petrol station, a chemist, bookshop, BNZ bank, electrical shop, real estate agencies, as well as an i-site and district council chambers with library and free internet access.

There is a surprisingly pleasant number of boutique cafes and fine dining restaurants serving scrumptious local and national dishes. Ohakune has a couple of famous bars such as the PowderKeg which is situated only 150 meters up the road from us.
Takeaways and pizza places are also to be found in the township.
